Dr. Kristen Goguen is a bassoon private lesson instructor in the DFW metroplex. She is the professor of bassoon at Dallas College, Brookhaven Campus and an active freelance bassoonist and contrabassoonist in the Dallas area. She earned her bachelor’s degree in bassoon performance from the University of Kentucky where she studied with Peter Simpson. She then went on to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to earn a master’s degree and an artist’s diploma in bassoon performance, studying with Mark Popkin and Saxton Rose. She earned her doctorate in bassoon performance and pedagogy from CU Boulder under the tutelage of Dr. Yoshi Ishikawa. She is a site manager for the Bocal Majority summer camps. She resides in Dallas with her dog, Pepper.
